From this picture it is hard to see why this bird would be called Bronze-winged jacana, as it is the wings (hidden in this picture) that deviate from the bird's coloring in general and that shift to bronze. In the picture, however, we see the bird's other characteristics: the dark chest and the neck that shift in blue and green, the white patch over the eye and the yellow and red bill. This species practices polyandry, i.e. the female mates with several males and lets them build the nests and incubate. She is responsible for laying the eggs. Period.
