This is a very visible bird in North India. It occurs in many different biotopes near water, including in the middle of villages! Several times I saw it sitting on roofs. In the picture you can clearly see the characteristic yellow legs, the black-grey-white body and the striking red fields around the eye and on the beak. The thing that gave the species its name, the red wattle between the eye and the bill, may be hard to see in the picture, but it is there.
