On the first day at Mount Kenya, we encountered several Silvery-cheeked hornbills. This is one of the largest species of hornbills (75-80 cm). I photographed this female at a distance, but you can still see the most important characteristics of the species: 'silvery' spots on the cheek, cream-colored hornbill and snow-white vent and rump. This is a female, we can see that as it has a smaller hornbill and pink, bare skin next to the eye.
Första dagen på Mount Kenya stötte vi på flera silverkindade näshornsfåglar. Detta är ju en av de största arterna näshornsfåglar (75-80 cm). Den här honan fick jag på håll, ändå ser man tydligt de viktigaste kännetecknen: 'silver-färgade' fläckar på kinden, grädd-färgad näbb med näshorn och snövit över- och undergump. Detta är en hona, det ser vi på att den har mindre näshorn och rödaktigt skinn invid ögat.
