Meadow pipit / Ängspiplärka

One of the most common bird species in the Varanger area was actually the Meadow pipit. Since we so much wanted to see the Rock pipit and the Red-throated pipit, this fact at times led to some disappointment. But - it is an elegant bird after all, right? Furthermore, this picture clearly shows two of the characteristics of this species, the long hind claws and the white, narrow, outer bands on the tail.
