This male was breeding close to the large kittiwake colony at Ekkerøy. Evidently it was on its way to the nest with an insect in its bill. At first glance, one can take it for a Great grey shrike - it is so dark and light in the right places for that, but the bill and the wings give it away; it reveals that it is a male Northern wheatear, even though this northern individual lacks the red-orange breast, found for example in the Northern wheatears were I live, in southern Sweden.
