One of the species I wanted to see in Tarangire was a courser, a favorite in advance. And I got to see both the Three-banded and the Double-banded courser. This one stood and gasped in the "desert heat", perfectly still, so that we would not detect it. A trick that could have worked if not Roger, our guide, had discovered it by the roadside.
En av de arter jag gärna ville se i Tarangire var ökenlöpare, några av mina favoriter på förhand. Och jag fick se såväl trebandade som tvåbandade ökenlöpare. Den här stod och flämtade i "ökenhettan", alldeles stilla, för att vi inte skulle upptäcka den. Ett trick som kunde ha fungerat om inte Roger, vår guide, upptäckt den vid vägkanten.
