Red-headed trogon / Rödhuvad trogon

Here we have a clear example of gender discrimination in the bird world! This bird is called "Red-headed trogon" whilw being brown-headed, because the species name refers to the male and this is a female! The sexes are actually quite similar, but it is the color of the head and neck that differentiates them. (If you want to see a male, there is a photo of it in my pictures from Bhutan).

Här har vi ett tydligt exempel på könsdiskriminering i fågelvärlden! Den här fågeln kallas "rödhuvad trogon" men är brunhuvad eftersom artnamnet avser hanen och detta är en hona! Könen är egentligen ganska lika, men det är färgen på huvud och hals som skiljer dem åt. (Vill du se en hane, så finns det ett foto av den i mina bilder från Bhutan).
