This Crimson-naped woodpecker was carving out a nest hole in a tree near the road. We could follow it and its hard work for quite some time. After all, it is a small woodpecker (roughly 17 cm) with an unusually short bill, so the effort of creating the nest hole was obvious.
Den här rödnackade hackspetten höll på att hacka ut ett bohål i ett träd nära vägen. Vi kunde följa den och dess idoga arbete en bra stund. Det är ju en liten hackspett (drygt 17 cm) med en ovanligt kort näbb så ansträngningen att få till bohålan var uppenbar.
