This is one of the most common songbirds in northern Israel - a Graceful prinia (until 2022 classified as one species along with the Delicate prinia). It is a small bird with a long tail that is clearly cross-striped on the underside, which is clearly seen in this picture. The song is a stubborn repetition of a single-syllable phrase and is usually performed from an elevated and open position - as in this picture... The closest relatives of the prinias are the cisticolas.
