For the first time I saw this impressive cuckoo - in the middle of Accra! Admittedly in the large botanical garden, but still! It is one of the largest cuckoos (37.5 cm (15 in)). Just like the Emerald cuckoo, for example, it is a brood parasite with a special behavior: the male flies around and distracts the birds in whose nest the female in the meantime lays her egg.
För första gången såg jag denna imponerande gökfågel - mitt inne i Accra! Visserligen i den stora botaniska trädgården, men ändå! Det är en av de största gökarna (37.5 cm). Precis som till exempel smaragdgöken är den boparasit med ett speciellt beteende: hannen flyger omkring och distraherar fåglarna i vars bo honan under tiden lägger sitt ägg.
