The Swamp flycatcher (also called the 'Swamp alseonax') is patcily distributed in a belt along the equator, across Africa. It is locally very common and relatively visible. It usually has a favorite spot where it perches, and scouts, and to which it returns when it has caught an insect. This is an individual of the subspecies 'infulata'. The picture was taken at our lodge at the southern tip of Lake Victoria.
