This Pin-tailed whydah is a brood parasite which means that it lays its eggs in a nest of the Common waxbill, and lets the waxbills raise the nestlings. The male, which I photographed in Tarangire NP in Tanzania, in February 2016, has extremely long tail feathers, while the female, here on the picture, has to do with an ordinary tail. I actually photographed this female close to the center of Awassa.

Den här dominikaneränkan är boparasit vilket betyder att den lägger sina ägg i ett bo av helenaastrilder och låter dessa föda upp ungarna. Hannen, som jag fotograferade i Tarangire NP i Tanzania, i februari 2016, har extremt långa stjärtfjädrar medan honan, här på bilden, fått nöja sig med en ordinär stjärt. Den här honan fotograferade jag faktiskt inne i stan i Awassa.
