Last year I saw Black herons fishing in their characteristic manner at Lake Manyara. They spread out their wings to an almost full circle, and fish with their heads under the "umbrellas" that shade the water surface. At that time, howver, I never got so close as here at Lake Naivasha. In this picture you can also see the yellow feet of the Black heron, reminiscent of "galoshes".

Förra året såg jag svarthägrar fiska på sitt karaktäristiska sätt i Lake Manyara. De breder ut sina vingar och fiskar med huvudet under detta "paraply" som skuggar vattenytan. Den gången kom jag dem dock aldrig så nära som här vid Lake Naivasha. I den här bilden ser man dessutom svarthägerns gula "galoscher".
