Now and then I awake at a trumpeting sound at my farm in Småland. The noise usually derives from a pair of Common cranes that have arrived to forage on the field outside my house. This time the couple showed up at midday, and my camera was ready. Obviously something itched in the area around the ear of one of them.
Nu och då vaknar jag av ivriga trumpetanden. Då är det oftast ett par tranor som kommer för att äta på åkrarna intill mitt hus. Den här gången kom paret mitt på dagen - och jag hade kameran redo. Tydligen kliade det bakom örat på en av dem.
