I visited the supposed capital of Moche culture (200-700 AD), today called 'Huaca del sol y de la luna'. In the tree outside the reception, I unexpectedly came across a short-billed pipit. Its actual distribution area is much further south, but there is a small enclave right here and up in the highlands.

Besökte mochekulturens (200-700) förmodade huvudstad, i dag kallad 'Huaca del sol y de la luna'. I trädet utanför receptionen stötte jag oväntat på en kortnäbbad piplärka. Dess egentliga utbredningsområde ligger betydligt längre söderut, men det finns en liten enklav just här och uppe i höglandet.
