White-chested-Babbler-(Malayan-swamp-babbler) As we glided in with the boat under the foliage that hung over the shore, we encountered this White-chested babbler (prevoulsy called Malayan swamp-babbler). In Swedish, this species is appropriately called "River timalia" because it is often found, as here, along rivers in lowland forests. It often forages in pairs, hopping around on rocks and branches near water. Its main diet is insects. The IUCN categorizes the species as "near threatened".
