Portrait of an unusually calm and inactive male Vieillot's black weaver. Note the male's unique all-black plumage combined with the bright yellow eye. The females are completely different: olive green with lighter underparts. The species has, slightly simplified, two distribution areas south of the Sahara: West Africa with Gabon as its center and Central Africa with Uganda as its center.
Porträtt av en ovanligt lugn och inaktiv svartvävarhanne. Notera hannens unika helsvarta fjäderdräkt i kombination med det lysande, gula ögat. Honorna är helt annorlunda: olivgröna med ljusare underdel. Arten har litet förenklat två utbredningsområden söder om Sahara: Västafrika med Gabon som centrum och Centralafrika med Uganda som centrum.
