In this picture of a male Regal sunbird, the different color fields are very clearly visible: the yellow breast with a wide red field in the middle, bright green on the head and a thin, purple collar. The female, on the other hand, is extremely discreet and colorless, mostly brown.
På denna bild av en hanne av kungssolfågel syns de olika färgfälten mycket tydligt: det gula bröstet med ett brett rött fält i mitten, lysande grönt på huvudet och en tunn, lila krage. Honan är däremot ytterst diskret och färglös, mestadels brun.
