This is an unusually dark Slender-billed greenbul (that may also be due to the light). It is long-tailed with a usually olive-brown back and light grey underside. The eye is, however, clearly red and a characteristic of the species. The species is found high up among the trees in moist forest, sometimes in small groups. The distribution extends in a belt from Senegal in the west to Uganda and westernmost Kenya in the east.
En ovanligt mörk smalnäbbad grönbulbyl (det kan också bero på ljuset). Den är långstjärtad med vanligtvis olivbrun rygg och ljusgrå undersida. Ögat är dock tydligt rött och ett karaktäristikum för arten. Arten påträffas i högt uppe bland träden i fuktig skog, ibland i små grupper. Utbredningen sträcker sig i ett bälte från Senegal i väster till Uganda och västligaste Kenya i öster.
