Portrait of a female Ural owl. In the picture, it looks kind and friendly - but the appearance is deceptive! The Ural owl is Northern Europes's most aggressive owl! This female owl is still young and therefore not yet so aggressive while the nestlings are ringed, but with time it will surely come! For safety, however, the ringer wore a helmet, shoulder protection and heavy gloves.
Porträtt av en slagugglehona. På bilden ser den snäll och vänlig ut - men skenet bedrar! Slagugglan är Sveriges mest aggressiva uggla. Den här ugglan är ännu ung och därför ännu inte så aggressiv medan ungarna ringmärks, men med tiden kommer det säkert! För säkerhets skull hade ringmärkaren dock hjälm, skydd för axlarna och kraftiga handskar.
