The Hartlaub'a turaco is a strange bird. Its appearance is very special. It is large, 43 cm, lives on high altitudes (1,500-3,200 m), is tree-living and the diet consists of fruit and berries. My experience is that it is also very difficult to photograph. It moves most of the time, high up in the trees and it is easily disturbed. What this image does not capture, however, is the red color that shines under the wings as it flies from one tree to another. (One can imagine the tint of the red from the red patch on the secondaries).
