In the beginning of our hike on the páramo, we passed a shrubbery. There we saw a Great thrush with a recently caught frog in the bill. Probably it had been down by the river and caught it there. The Great thrush has gotten its name from the fact that it is the biggest thrush of South America, up to 33 cm long. It rarely catches frogs, but subsists on insects, worms, berries and fruits.
