On the Okavango River the African fish eagle was the most common raptor. However, this white headed eagle should not be confused with the national bird of the US (the 'Bald eagle'). Even though they are closely related, the latter has an entirely yellow beak, its head is whiter, it has no white on its chest and the wings do not feature the brown feathers of the fish eagle. In spite of the differences, both eagles are magnificent birds!
