There are no true raptors on Spitsbergen, but the Glaucous gull (in competition with the skuas), is as close as you can get. It steals the eggs of other birds and it kills their young (and feed on them). Here two of them are portrayed together with the most feared mammal of Spitsbergen: a Polar bear.
Det finns inga rovfåglar på Svalbard. Det närmaste man kommer är nog vittruten (i konkurrens med labbarna) som här är en fruktad boplundrare. Den stjäl andras ägg och dödar deras ungar. Här är två av dem porträtterade tillsammans med det mest fruktade däggdjuret: en isbjörn.
