The Brown noddy (or the 'Common noddy') is a gull living in the tropics. It is perhaps the most elegant of all gulls with its fusiform body, short neck and long bill. One of the five subspecies of brown noddy has the addition 'galapagensis' and it lives only here, in the Galapagos Islands. The picture was taken at sea, off the coast of the island of Santa Cruz.
Den bruna noddyn är en måsfågel som lever i tropikerna. Den är kanske den elegantaste av alla måsfåglar med sin spolformade kropp, korta hals och långa näbb. En av fem underarter av brun noddy har tillägget 'galapagensis' och finns bara här på Galapagosöarna. Bilden är tagen till havs, utanför ön Santa Cruz.
