This flycatcher is closely related to our three species of Ficedula flycatchers in Sweden (Ficedula albicollis, hypoleuca and parva) (Collared, Pied, and Red-breasted flycatchers). Both sexes have an orange breast - which of course has given the species its name - but the male, as in the picture, has a dark head and a characteristic white eyebrow stripe. The female, on the other hand, has a gray-brown head without a stripe. When the bird becomes alarmed, it likes to stretch its tail and flap its wings. In this picture it appears to be most curious...
