This is one of the more colorless of the "duet singing" cisticolas. It has, as the name suggests, a faintly rust-colored cheek, otherwise it is mostly grayish-brown.
Detta är en av de mera färglösa av de "duettsjungande" cistikolorna. Den har, som namnet antyder, en svagt rostfärgad kind annars är den mest gråbrun. Fågeln har också kallats 'rödhättad grässångare'.
