This is one of many elegant pheasant cocks - an "Edward's pheasant". It is found, or possibly was found, only in the lowland areas of central Vietnam. It may be extinct in the wild. All the woodland where it used to be is gone. Now a thousand individuals remain in captivity.
Detta är en av många eleganta fasantuppar - en Vietnamfasan. Den förekommer, eller möjligen förekom, enbart i låglandsområden i centrala Vietnam. Den kan nämligen vara utdöd i det vilda. All skogsmark där den fanns är borta. Nu återstår ett tusental individer i fångenskap.
