Just as we landed at the airport in Mount Hagen, I caught sight of this Singing starling. It is a medium-sized starling (20 cm) that lives in an area around Papua New Guinea, including northern Australia and a number of islands. It subsists, among other things, on figs and sometimes eats insects. It is a social bird and it likes to breed in colonies.

Just när vi landat på flygplatsen i Mount Hagen fick jag syn på den här sångstaren. Det är en medelstor stare (20 cm) som lever i ett område runt Papua Nya Guinea, inklusive norra Austalien och ett antal öar. Den lever bland annat på fikon och äter ibland insekter. Det är en social fågel och häckar gärna i kolonier.
