This elegant and acrobatic parrot is a Papuan lorikeet. It landed in a tree in the garrden of our lodge and obviously enjoyed the fruits. (Unfortunately, the light was not the best for photography). This species occurs only in western New Guinea. It is kept as a caged bird for its beauty but it is not much studied in the wild.
Denna eleganta och akrobatiska papegoja är en Vogelkoplorikit. Den landade i ett träd i vår lodge-trädgård och lät sig väl smaka av frukterna. (Tyvärr var inte ljuset det bästa för fotografering). Arten förekommer endast på västra Nya Guinea. Den hålls som burfågel på grund av sin skönhet men är inte särskilt studerad i det vilda.
