One night I was staying in a hotel in Mpataba and outside my window there was a palm tree with a colony of Orange weavers. The female is greenish and quite inconspicuous while the male shines in bright orange. It was a period of nest building so the males built new nests and repaired old ones to attract the females. These came and made a brief visit now and then to see if the apartment was suitable. If it was, there was a possibility of breeding. This male had bright colors and looked like the proudest "rooster" in the gang... If only his nest was built well enough, he would probably get a partner.
