Yellow-crowned gonolek / Gulkronad busktörnskata

It is rare to see the Yellow-crowned gonolek because it usually hides in the undergrowth. It has an incredibly intense color combination that is not fully reproduced in this shrub, photographed in evening light. It is a medium-sized passerine (8.7 in) with a long tail. The Yellow-crowned gonolek mainly subsits on insects that it seeks at ground level or in the undergrowth. The sexes are identical.
