Ever since I was a kid and held parrots, Gray parrots have fascinated me. It was for long considered (perhaps still?) to be the most intelligent bird of all. I had given up hope of seeing it in the wild, as it is strongly threatened everywhere. But in the evening, in Bobiri forest, the guide Victor took us to a tree where the parrots used to spend the night. And, quite rightly, before it got really dark, there was a flock of Gray parrots of maybe ten individuals, circling around and, when they decided that the coast was clear, they sat down in the tree. I was so happy about this unexpected favor - to see the Gray parrot in its original habitat!
