Portrait of a female of Double-banded sandgrouse. Like the male, it has a yellow eye, but otherwise it lacks all the male characteristics. In mating time, she is courted by the male who performs a ceremonial ring dance around her, displaying an upright tail. The simple nest is formed directly on the ground, perhaps under a bush. The couple then takes turns in brooding and the chick is fledged already in a month.
Porträtt av en hona av tvåbandad flyghöna. Liksom hannen har den en gul ögonring men i övrigt saknar den alla dennes karaktäristika. I parningstider uppvaktas hon av hanen som med upprätt stjärt utför en ceremoniell ringdans runt henne. Det enkla boet reder hon sedan direkt på marken, kanske under en buske. Paret turas om att ruva och ungen är flygfärdig redan inom en månad.
