Francolins, closely related to the pheasants, are considered to be terrestrial. That is why most sightings are of birds on the ground. Thus it is surprising to see a Crested francolin, like the one on the photograph, in a tree. As might be obvious from the picture, this bird climbed the tree to reach the fresh buds.

Frankoliner, ett slags hönsfåglar, nära släkt med fasanfåglarna, räknas vanligtvis som marklevande. De ses därför nästan alltid på marken. Därför är det förvånande när man, som på detta foto, observerar en tofsfrankolin i ett litet träd. Som möjligen framgår av bilden, tog den sig upp dit för att nå de färska knopparna.
