This species is rightly called 'Great thrush'. It may grow up to 30 cm long and is thus South America's largest thrush. The bird in the picture is a female because she has a blue-gray eye ring (the male has a yellow one). The picture is taken without a bird-hide on the lawn just outside the hotel. Arten kallas 'stortrast' med rätta. Den kan bli upp till 30 cm lång och är därmed Sydamerikas största trast. Fågel på bilden är en hona eftersom hon har en gråblå ögonring (hannens har en gul). Bilden är tagen utan gömsle på gräsmattan utanför hotellet.
